Peel and wash tapioca and chop to small pieces.Take these in a steel container and fill water.
Add 1 pinch of turmeric powder and salt and cook it.Do not cook till the tapiocas are mashed.
Clean and wash the beef and chop it to small pieces.
Make a spice mix by mixing finely chopped onions,slitted green chillies,1/2 tsp turmeric powder,1/2 tbsp chilli powder,1 tbsp meat masala,1/4 tsp garam masala,ginger garlic paste,1 sprig curry leaves and desired amout of salt.
Marinate the beef pieces to mix and keep it aside for 30min.
Transfer this marinated beef to cooker, add water and cook it well.
Heat oil in pan and fry grated coconut, sliced shallot and curry leaves.
When the coconut turns golden brownish add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder,1 tsp meat masala,1/2 tsp coriander powder,1/2 tbsp chilli powder.
Switch of flame when natural aroma fades out.when cool grind it without adding water.
Drain off the excess water from cooked tapioca and transfer it to a circular vessel(uruli)
Add the grinded coconut mix to this and mix it well till it becomes thick gravy.
Drain the beef pieces from curry and mix it.Mix all of them well.
Add 1 stem of curryleaves and the meat spicy mix and stir this well.
Do not add whole of the mix,instead add only required to make it like a thick gravy.
Now heat this uruli and steam the tapiocas
Kappa biriyani is ready.
